ATLANTA, Feb. 4, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Optio Software, Inc. (OTCBB:OPTO) today announced that they have entered into an agreement with Strategic Information Group (SIG), under which SIG will resell Optio's solutions and provide related training and implementation services to its customers throughout the United States and Western Canada. SIG specializes in providing complete QAD MFG/PRO solutions to organizations seeking to improve their manufacturing capabilities globally. The company's selection of Optio as a key partner will address the strategic need to provide QAD customers with world-class improvements to document-driven processes on a worldwide basis.
"We selected Optio to address a critical need on behalf of the more than 600 QAD MFG/PRO customers SIG has built a lasting relationship with over the years," said Doug Novak, SIG's President. "More than ever before organizations are seeking to extract the maximum value from their investment in technology. Optio allows us to easily leverage the strength of MFG/PRO and extend its capability to business critical processes such as procurement, global invoicing and industry specific manufacturing."
The relationship will address the Manufacturing, Medical, Automotive, Industrial/Electronics, Consumer Products and Food/Beverage industries and combines SIG's proven expertise in these fields, deep QAD product knowledge and Optio's experience in document, process and content solutions. Solutions covered under the agreement include: Optio DesignStudio(tm), Optio e.ComIntegrate(tm), Optio e.ComPresent(tm), OptioFax(tm) and Optio PrintManager(tm). SIG's staff will begin training immediately and a series of co-marketing initiatives including educational webinars were launched on February 3, 2004.
"Building a relationship with SIG is an example of our ongoing commitment to the growing QAD community," said C. Wayne Cape, Optio's Chairman, CEO and President. "Together, we bring to the table a unique combination of skill sets, experience and coverage that we believe will truly benefit QAD's MFG/PRO customers. We are looking forward to working closely on this alliance and the value it can provide."
About Strategic Information Group
SIG's goal is to set the standard for excellence in providing MFG/PRO-related services and products.
The Strategic Information Group was founded on the premise that manufacturers need every possible advantage if they hope to compete successfully in a global market. All of SIG's principals come from technology and manufacturing backgrounds. They understand that advanced information technology is a crucial part of any major competitive strategy. SIG also realizes that while many companies have the technology, very few use its full potential. Competitive advantage comes as much from the way companies apply technology to their business as from the technology itself.
