Sika acquires the admixture business of Scancem

Sika AG, Baar, Switzerland, has acquired the concrete admixtures business of Scancem Chemicals A/S, Norway.

Scancem Chemicals is owned by Norcem A/S, a subsidiary of the HeidelbergCement Group, Germany.

In a shift of focus HeidelbergCement is withdrawing from the concrete admixtures business. The sale of the admixtures business of Scancem Chemicals therefore continues to pursue a process already underway. The acquired business sales total about CHF 8 m per annum.

Scancem Chemicals' customers will benefit from the acquisition through their access to the new technologies of Sika.

The acquisition still needs the approval of the Norwegian competition authorities.
