Aker Kvaerner Offshore Partner Secures Kerr-McGee Contract

The latest agreement will see Aker Kvaerner Offshore Partner Ltd. providing engineering, construction and support services to Kerr-McGee's assets in the North Sea. The contract is initially for two years, with three further 12-month options.

Kerr-McGee operates two FPSOs (floating production, storage and offloading facilities) in the Leadon and Gryphon oil & gas fields, as well as the Janice 'A' FPU (floating production unit). Aker Kvaerner Offshore Partner will supply a dedicated team of engineering, construction and support services personnel for all three facilities, with additional personnel being provided as required.

The new agreement comprises services that were previously split between two separate contracts held by Aker Kvaerner Offshore Partner's competitors. Managing Director, Harald Gulaker says the deal reaffirms his company's long-standing relationship with Kerr-McGee:

"We have seen-off stiff competition for the second time in as many weeks. Our teams are demonstrating a range of expertise and value that is second to none."

Aker Kvaerner Offshore Partner Ltd. is one of five Aker Kvaerner companies with headquarters in Aberdeen. The others are: Aker Kvaerner Oilfield Products, Aker Kvaerner operations, Kvaerner Process Systems, and Maritime Hydraulics
