Who: Wendy Iverson, the Heavy Hoop inventor, will be teaching her "Cardio Hoop" class that was recently featured on CNN Headline News at TheFitExpo, L.A.'s Premier Health and Fitness Expo, featuring more than 80 of the country's top health and fitness experts. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed to work out, with selected participation events subject to a first come, first served basis. TheFitExpo features over 100 health and fitness exhibitors and five tracks of workshop and seminar programming for Every level of ability, aerobics, yoga, Cardio Hoop, bodybuilding, strength training, and diet/nutrition programs. On TheFitExpo exhibit floor, there will be a staging area for live events, demonstrations and more. Cardio Hoop classes will be taught Friday and Saturday at 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. When: TheFitExpo takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb 20th, 21st and 22nd from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. daily. Alberto "Beto" Perez, founder of the Latin music themed "Zumba; MaDonna Grimes, award-winning aerobic champion and owner of a cutting-edge LA-based dance and fitness theatre company that blends Hip Hop dance into group exercise; and Wendy Iverson, creator of Heavy Hoop's "Cardio Hoop" super fat burning classes -- causing a hoopla worldwide. Special Events: On Friday, Feb. 20th , 3:00 p.m. in the Pasadena Center's Little Theater, IRONMAN Magazine will host the IFBB IRONMAN PRO XV Bodybuilding press conference. Competitors, including Dexter Jackson, Lee Priest, Craig Titus and many more of the world's best known male bodybuilders, will be introduced and weighed in. The pre-judging event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21st, between 10:00 - Noon in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, with final judging at 7:00 p.m. in the same venue. The NPC Women's Figure Competition will take place on the Expo Stage in TheFitExpo exhibit hall, on Saturday, Feb. 21st beginning at 2:00 p.m. with finals at 7:00 p.m. in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
At the evening event, IFBB founder, Ben Weider, will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
On the Main Stage, Saturday, Feb., 21st, at 1:00-1:30 p.m. and 5:30-6:00 p.m., TheFitExpo Strongman demonstration will feature three-time World's Strongest Man, Bill Kazmaier, as well as Odd Haugen, Mark Philippi, and Jesse Marunde. These amazing athletes are some of the world's strongest and they will demonstrate Farmer's Walk, Giant Log Lift and Stones of Strength as seen on ESPN.
World famous bodybuilding athletes scheduled to present weight training demonstrations and sign autographs include Jay Cutler, Lee Priest, Lena Johannesen, Melvin Anthony, Mark Dugdale, Rich Gaspari, and Chris Cook. Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman, Gunter Schlierkamp, and Timea Majorova will appear courtesy of Weider Publications.
