Nokia applauded for its expertise in mobility at CTIA Wireless 2004


ATLANTA - Wireless Week, the leading publication for wireless telecommunications, has recognized Nokia (NYSE: NOK) among its peers for outstanding contribution and performance in the wireless industry.  The Excellence Awards are in their eighth year of recognizing carriers and retailers, however this is the first year for the wireless vendor category.  As the inaugural recipient of the award for this category, Nokia is being given special recognition among wireless vendors for its overall performance and contribution to the wireless industry.   According to Wireless Week, Nokia is recognized for "consistently raising the technology bar, forging new development paths and being the company to watch."
 
Nokia has also been selected to participate in the 2004 Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) Wireless Widgets Showcase, where Nokia will compete with other carriers and manufacturers to be voted the hottest consumer or business wireless device.  The Nokia 6620 imaging phone will be measured against mobile devices such as wireless phone adapters, game controllers, portable wireless speakers and other technical gadgets.  Attendees at CTIA will be able to vote on the best gadget via text messaging.

Winners of the Wireless Widgets Showcase will be announced at the conclusion of  the CTIA Wireless 2004 conference, the world's largest wireless trade show, which is being held  March 22-24, 2004 in Atlanta, Georgia.
