VIENNA, Va., March 29, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- MSSI-TeleScience International, Inc. (OTCBB:MSSI), a provider of long-term medical personnel, homeland security and technology services to federal, state and local government agencies as well as the private sector, announced today that it has entered into a marketing partnership with Silver Star Technologies, Inc. (SST), a marketer and distributor of equipment used in Homeland Security protection services. This includes personal protection equipment and decontamination units. The agreement also covers medical equipment, as well as telemedicine services.
The companies plan on utilizing their combined strengths to expand the sale and deployment of Homeland Security Equipment to the Federal Government, Department of Defense, and the Veterans Administration. As part of the agreement, SST will serve as TeleScience's supplier for these products, which will be marketed to these agencies.
TeleScience was named as a participant in the $1 billion IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity-meaning the customer can purchase up to $1 billion in products and services) contract with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for homeland security equipment. This alliance with SST will further TeleScience's goals to service this contract. The companies will share equally in the gross profits from the sales generated as a result of this agreement.
SST is a disabled Vietnam veteran owned Small Disadvantaged Business and qualifies as a HUB Zone small business concern. This status allows the company to bid on contracts set aside for companies with each of these special designations. The two companies will partner for joint bidding on select projects in the Homeland Security arena that share their combined expertise. This will also include SST's other products and services.
"MSSI has worked successfully with SST in the past, and this new marketing partnership more clearly defines a strategy for increased sales through our combined efforts," said Dr. B.B. Sahay, president and CEO of MSSI-TeleScience. "We will use our marketing and administrative expertise, as well as our vast network within the government and healthcare sectors, to help both of our companies increase the sale and distribution of Homeland Security products, and broaden our distribution system."
