Yosemite Technologies Joins SUSE LINUX Partner Program

The Program Augments Yosemite's Reach in the Linux Market and Reinforces Its position as a Backup Software Market Leader

PHOENIX, Ariz., April 5, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Storage Networking World -- Yosemite Technologies, a leading developer of multi-platform backup and recovery software solutions, announced today that it has joined Novell's business unit SUSE LINUX partner program as a technology partner.

The partnership allows Yosemite to broaden its outreach to Linux users with its award winning line of TapeWare(r) backup software and reinforce its already solid customer relationships. It also allows Yosemite to strengthen its position in the backup and disaster recovery market. As a technology partner, Yosemite has the benefit of working closely with SUSE to optimize product development, marketing and sales opportunities.

"Joining the SUSE partner program is a great opportunity for Yosemite. It allows us to expand our reach into the growing Linux market and continue to build upon the solid product architecture that TapeWare has to offer," stated Kevin Reinis, chief executive officer at Yosemite Technologies. "Linux is one of the fastest growing operating systems because of its stability, reliability and availability. Its users expect best-of-breed solutions and applications that complement their sophisticated IT environments. TapeWare provides the performance and affordability that Linux users seek in an enterprise-class back-up software solution."

An additional benefit of working with SUSE is product certification so customers are assured of a stable and tested Linux compatible solution. SUSE partners are included in the development and maintenance processes, which allow Yosemite to offer even higher quality maintenance and support for its TapeWare for Linux solution.

TapeWare offers users enterprise-caliber features such as a three tier modular, scalable architecture so the capacity of TapeWare can grow as a business grows. TapeWare also offers high performance data backup and recovery via a maximum of 240 concurrent data steams and bare metal recovery for disaster recovery. The new Oracle agent for TapeWare provides Oracle database users that utilize Linux with a powerful, 24x7 backup solution.

"Yosemite's backup software is one of the most solid backup solutions on the market today," said Uwe Heine, chief alliance officer, SUSE LINUX. "Adding this technology to the growing infrastructure now available to our customers makes Yosemite a welcome addition to our partner program."

TapeWare for Linux is currently available through Yosemite's web site and Value Added Resellers. For more information on the solution, please visit the company's web site at www.yosemitetech.com.
