NAPERVILLE, Ill., April 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- CALAMOS Convertible Opportunities and Income Fund (NYSE:CHI) (Cusip No.: 128117108) and CALAMOS Convertible and High Income Fund (NYSE:CHY) (Cusip No.: 12811P108) announced today that any shareholder proposal for consideration at the annual meeting of shareholders to be held on June 25, 2004 should be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the Funds at their principal offices at 1111 East Warrenville Road, Naperville, Illinois 60563-1493, not later than April 26, 2004. Any such proposal shall be included in a written notice that includes the shareholder's name and address, the number of shares of the Fund(s) that the shareholder owns of record or beneficially, the dates on which those shares were acquired, and documentary support for a claim of beneficial ownership if the shares are registered in a different name. Timely submission of a proposal does not mean the proposal will be included in the proxy material sent to shareholders.
