Intrepid Takes First Step in Marketing Gas Products

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, April 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Intrepid Technology and Resources, Inc. (ITR) a renewable energy company (OTCBB:IESV) through it's subsidiary, Innovative Engineering Solutions, has received an Idaho State Fuel Distributors License.

This is just the first step in a wide-ranging, evolving and comprehensive program to market and distribute the refined methane gas products that ITR will begin producing from their first anaerobic digestion system presently being built near Rupert, Idaho. That Methane gas refinery is expected to begin operation in late summer with the first commercially significant quantities of gas available for sale by late September 2004. ITR expects that significant marketing agreements and facilities will need to be in place to distribute the available gas prior to the commencement of full-scale production.

ITR will be employing a proprietary high-rate digestion technology that produces biogas with up to 80% methane content; this is 33% greater than the current industry standard. This commercial-scale digester facility will be used both as a production facility and as a platform to test and demonstrate a variety of methods to cost effectively utilize the gas produced on a commercial scale to a rapidly expanding base of interested dairies and end users of the gas. Construction will allow for additional tanks and capacity to be added as the market for the gas expands. ITR will begin construction of the second Methane gas refinery, near Wendell, Idaho, shortly after the Rupert plant goes into full-scale production.

The biogas industry in Idaho alone has the potential to exceed $50 million in annual revenue due to its robust dairy operations. ITR estimates that the western United States dairy industry could generate $175 million in annual revenues through this process.
