LONDON, April 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Auto-Q International Inc, (OTCBB:AUTQ), a leading supplier of vehicle tracking and monitoring systems for trucking fleets and consumers, announced today that it has received a purchase order from Nampak Plastics for a large scale trial on 12 of their vehicles. The trial will evaluate Auto-Q's FleetTrak, TrailerTrak and eGuard systems across Nampak Plastic's UK operation.
The evaluation program will run for 6 weeks and once the system has been proved successful in the Nampak organisation, Nampak Plastics intends to outfit the whole 240 UK-based fleet at a value of $340,000.
Nampak Plastics is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of rigid plastic bottles and containers offering both a standard range and custom design. They currently run a mixed delivery fleet of trailers and tractors units totalling 240 vehicles and have identified some key business requirements. The company has major issues with locating trailers once they have been left at a customer's premises and also need to reduce the operating costs of their tractor units. Using Auto-Q's system they will be able to locate the trailers at any time and ensure they are available at their maintenance depot for regular servicing and transport law testing. Auto-Q's TrailerTrak has its own battery power supply to enable it to be tracked even when disconnected from the tractor unit.
