JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, May 11, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Impala Platinum Holdings Limited (Implats) (Pink Sheets:IMPUY) (Other OTC:IMPAF) (JSE:IMP) (LSE:IPLA) (ADRS:IMPUY) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Frederik Johannes Paul Roux as a nonexecutive director on the company's board with effect from 10 May 2004.
Dr. Roux (B.Sc; MSc; PhD; MBA) is a previous chairman of Alusaf and was an executive director of Gencor with responsibility for the company's base metals division. Previously Dr. Roux held various positions at JCI Limited, and was Senior General Manager responsible for worldwide marketing and strategic planning in the company's platinum division.
With the appointment of Dr. Roux the number of non-executive directors on the company's board now totals 11, out of a total of 15.
