STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Communicating with family and friends via mobile will now be even simpler and better value for Vodafone Sweden's prepaid customers. Vodafone is today launching a new prepaid card - Vodafone Kontantkort -- which has two unified call prices to all networks in Sweden. This means that Vodafone's prepaid customers now only need to remember two prices -- SEK 0.99/minute in the evenings and weekends and SEK 4.95/minute in the daytime -- regardless of whom they call.
"We want to make communicating by mobile phone as simple and affordable for our customers as possible. With call prices as low as SEK 0.99/minute in the evenings and weekends we now offer the market's lowest unified price for prepaid. This means our customers can call anyone they want to and still have full control of their call costs. We also know from our customer surveys that this price model appeals particularly to the under 30s, as they use their mobiles primarily in the evenings and at weekends," says Paul Moonga, Director of Consumer Market, Vodafone Sweden
In addition to uniform call prices, Vodafone prepaid card also offers attractive rates for SMS and MMS; customers can in Sweden send text messages to all Swedish networks for SEK 1.25 each and picture messages for SEK 2.80 each. Surfing in Sweden with Vodafone Kontantkort costs SEK 20 for every downloaded MB of data.
Another key advantage with Vodafone Kontantkort is that it functions in exactly the same way abroad in other Vodafone countries as it does at home. Therefore it is possible to send SMS or MMS greetings from abroad and all the calls the user make are deducted from the account in real time. Users can also buy refill vouchers for Vodafone Kontantkort in 12 countries* in Europe and more countries are continuously being added to the list.
"Price is an important consideration for our customers but so is simplicity and attractive services. That is why we are putting in extra effort to offer the market's most functional prepaid card - a card that will make it as simple as possible for our customers to communicate wherever they may be. In addition to all the overseas functions, the card also offers balance information via SMS free of charge and the users have a wide range of options for topping up their prepaid cards," he says.
