California Software Announces the Release of JWalk Migration Tool

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., May 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- California Software Corporation (Pink Sheets:CSWP), a leader in Legacy Extension, Business Intelligence, loan production software for banks, credit unions and consumer lending institutions and developer of the award-winning BABY, Unibol, LPS and INFINITE product lines, announced it has released a migration tool for the JWalk product from Seagull Software (ASE: SEAGULL).

JWalk (Seagull Software) is a tool that represents previous technology that allowed ISVs and end-users to create a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for their legacy applications. Many of these ISVs and end users have found the Seagull product difficult to use, expensive to maintain and lacking in EAI capabilities. Until now, they have had to cope with the inherent problems in this older technology in order to avoid making large investments in newer technology in terms of both resources and money.

Customers today want more functionality than GUI and screen triggers -- a product that will publish their legacy applications to the web and provide robust integration features with other enterprise applications. The extensive time investment required to do the original customizations, however, has been hard to walk away from. California Software developed a conversion tool to preserve that investment and eliminate the hurdle to moving to INFINITE NET.

This new migration tool from California Software easily migrates the customizations created in the JWalk product to the Microsoft. NET-based INFINITE NET from California Software. When bundled with California Software's "Switch and Save" program, ISVs and end-users are guaranteed free license exchanges and 1/2 maintenance pricing for all JWalk clients who migrate to INFINITE NET.

The purpose in combining the JWalk migration tool with the "Switch and Save" program was to create an extremely compelling and immediately rewarding program for potential new INFINITE NET clients.

"We have combined automated migration of JWalk screen customizations to INFINITE NET so that we can provide a much more flexible, powerful and scalable platform to AS/400 and iSeries ISV's and end-users. We felt that providing this technology in a way that was fast to deploy and cost-effective was crucial to the market. We believe that by offering superior technology along with value pricing strategies, we can meet the needs of a large number of ISV's and end-users currently using Jwalk," said Carol Conway, President, California Software.

INFINITE NET is a suite of products that creates a graphical front end for IBM iSeries (formerly AS/400) and Mainframe screens. Then, the product web-enables the legacy applications and provides integration capabilities to other applications on other platforms. INFINITE NET competes with products such as JWalk from Seagull Software. In fact, California Software has announced its Switch and Save program for Seagull customers. This program allows JWalk users to trade older licenses of JWalk and RUMBA for new Web-based INFINITE NET licenses at no charge.
