DEME kent een normale uitvoering van haar orderportefeuille. De huidige lage bezettingsgraad van grote sleepzuigers wordt ten dele gecompenseerd door de hoge bezetting van de cutterzuigers en door een verder doorgedreven rationalizering van zowel productiemiddelen als overheadkosten.
In een moeilijke markt kon ALGEMENE AANNEMINGEN VAN LAERE haar orderportefeuille verder vernieuwen voor de periode 2004/2005 met projecten te Antwerpen (renovatie Silvertoptoren), te Brussel (Merchie Pède, Basilix, Lex 2000) en Mechelen-Campus.
HUMAN RESOURCES DIENSTEN
Het zakencijfer van SOLVUS daalde over de eerste 3 maanden van 2004 met 4,5% (organisch - 3%) in vergelijking met januari - maart 2003.
Deze daling is hoofdzakelijk toe te schrijven aan de Nederlandse en Duitse markten.
Creyf's kende een sterke groei in Spanje, Zwitserland en Polen, en ook in Frankrijk en Italië deed Creyf's beter dan de markt. De omzet daalde het sterkst in januari 2004, sindsdien verbetert de omzet elke maand. In maart 2004 bedroeg het zakencijfer meer dan in maart 2003. Nettegenstaande tekenen van enig herstel in sommige markten, blijven de economische vooruitzichten vooralsnog onzeker.
De gestelde objectieven qua kostenreductie en nettoschuldpositie blijven van kracht.
FINANCIËLE DIENSTEN
Gedragen door een aanzienlijk beter beursklimaat in de eerste 3 maanden van 2004 en een verdere netto-inflow van nieuwe fondsen, stegen de toevertrouwde vermogens van BANK DELEN tot € 6.047 mio per 31.03.2004.
Ook BANK J. VAN BREDA & C° kende een verdere gestage groei. Het aantal doelgroepcliënten steeg reeds met 3% over de eerste 3 maanden van 2004. De verbeterde beursconjunctuur droeg vanzelfsprekend bij tot een stijging van de fee-inkomsten. Ook de leasing en car finance activiteiten blijven sterk presteren.
Hierbij herinneren wij dat in februari 2004 de herschikking van de aandeelhoudersstructuur van Finaxis gefinaliseerd werd, zodat AvH per 01.01.04 voortaan 75% van Finaxis aanhoudt en consolideert.
LEASINVEST verwacht nog steeds bijkomende meerwaarden te kunnen realiseren op de verkoop van bepaalde vastgoedactiva.
PRIVATE EQUITY
De meeste deelnemingen presteren over de eerste maanden volgens budget. Voorlopig werden nog geen verkopen gerealiseerd in de portefeuille.
Vooruitzichten 2004
Niettegenstaande een zwak eerste trimester van Solvus blijft de Raad van Bestuur van AvH "gematigd optimistisch over de winstgroei in 2004".

DE L'EVOLUTION DES AFFAIRES DANS LES PRINCIPALES PARTICIPATIONS

Activités DE DRAGAGE, DE SERVICES ENVIRONNEMENTAUX ET DE CONSTRUCTION
L'exécution du carnet de commandes de DEME se développe comme prévu. Le taux d'occupation actuellement faible de grandes dragues suceuses porteuses est compensé partiellement par le taux d'occupation élevé des dragues suceuses à désagrégateur (cutter) et par la rationalisation continue tant des moyens de production que des frais généraux.
Dans un marché difficile, ALGEMENE AANNEMINGEN VAN LAERE a su renouveler son carnet de commandes pour la période 2004/2005 avec de nouveaux projets à Anvers (rénovation « Silvertoptoren »), à Bruxelles (Merchie Pède, Basilix, Lex 2000) et à Malines-Campus.
SERVICES DE RESSOURCES HUMAINES
Au cours des trois premiers mois de l'année 2004 le chiffre d'affaires de SOLVUS a reculé de 4,5 % (- 3,0 % au niveau organique) par rapport aux trois premiers mois de l'année 2003. Cette baisse du chiffre d'affaires est essentiellement imputable aux activités néerlandaises et allemandes.
Creyf's Espagne, Suisse et Pologne ont connu une forte progression du chiffre d'affaires. Creyf's France et Italie ont également fait mieux que le marché.
La baisse du chiffre d'affaires a été la plus forte en janvier 2004, depuis lors le chiffre d'affaires progresse de mois en mois. Le chiffre d'affaires réalisé en mars 2004 a été supérieur à celui de mars 2003.
Malgré ces signes de reprise dans certains pays, les prévisions économiques restent dominées par l'incertitude.
Les objectifs annoncés concernant la réduction des coûts et la dette nette restent maintenus.
SERVICES FINANCIERS
Soutenus par un climat boursier meilleur au premier trimestre 2004 et par une rentrée nette de nouvaux fonds, les patrimoines gérés par la BANQUE DELEN ont augmenté jusqu'à € 6.047 millions au 31.03.2004.
La BANQUE J. VAN BREDA & C° a également connu une croissance continue. Le nombre de clients du groupe cible a augmenté de 3% pendant les 3 premiers mois de l'année 2004. L'amélioration de la conjoncture boursière a évidemment contribué à une augmentation des commissions. Les activités de leasing et de car finance continuent à réaliser de bons résultats.
Nous rappelons que fin février 2004, un réamenagement de l'actionnariat de Finaxis a été finalisé, de sorte que, au 1 janvier 2004, AvH consolide et détient 75% de Finaxis.
LEASINVEST attend toujours à pouvoir réaliser des plus-values additionnelles sur la vente de certaines actifs immobiliers.
PRIVATE EQUITY
La plupart des participations ont réalisé des résultats selon le budget. Aucune vente n'a été réalisée dans le portefeuille, pour le moment
Perspectives 4
Malgré le faible résultat de Solvus au premier trimestre, le Conseil d'Administration d'Ackermans & van Haaren reste modérément optimiste sur la croissance du résultat de l'année en cours.

QUARTERLY TRADING UPDATE
ON THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS OF THE MAIN AvH-GROUP COMPANIES

DREDGING, ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
The orderbook of DEME is being executed following plan. The present low utilisation rate of big trailing suction hopper dredgers is partially compensated by the high capacity utilisation of the cutter dredgers and the continued rationalisation of both production means and overhead costs.
In a difficult market, ALGEMENE AANNEMINGEN VAN LAERE succeeded in extending its orderbook for the period 2004-2005 with projects in Antwerp (renovation "Silvertoptoren"), in Brussels (Merchie Pède, Basilix, Lex 2000) and Mechelen-Campus.
HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICES
Revenue of SOLVUS for the first three months of 2004 decreased by 4.5% (organically -3.0%) compared to the first three months of 2003. This decrease is mainly caused by the Dutch and German activities.
In Spain, Switzerland and Poland in particular Creyf's showed strong revenue growth. Creyf's also performed better than the market in France and Italy.
Revenue declined most significantly in January 2004. However, revenue improved month by month. In March 2004 Solvus Resource Group realised a higher revenue than in March 2003.
Despite signs of recovery in some countries, economic prospects continue to be dominated by uncertainty.
The objectives regarding the cost reduction and net debt remain valid.
FINANCIAL SERVICES
Supported by a favourable stock market climate during the first quarter of 2004 and a further net inflow of new funds, the funds entrusted to BANK DELEN rose to € 6.047 at 31.03.2004.
BANK J. VAN BREDA & C° also continued its steady growth. The number of target clients has risen with 3% over the first three months of 2004. The improved stock market conditions have obviously contributed to an increase of fee income. Leasing and car finance activities as well continue to do well.
We would like to remind that AvH has completed the rearrangement of the shareholders structure of Finaxis, resulting in a 75% participation of AvH in Finaxis per 01.01.2004. From this date, 75% of Finaxis will be consolidated in the AvH accounts.
LEASINVEST still expects to realise additional capital gains on the sale of certain real estate assets.
PRIVATE EQUITY
During the first quarter, most participations have performed in line with budget. For the moment, no sales in the portfolio have been realised.
Outlook for the AvH group for the year 2004
Despite the weak first quarter of Solvus, the Board of Directors remains moderately optimistic about the profit growth in 2004.
