Yosemite Technologies and Tandberg Data Announce Worldwide OEM Agreement

The Companies Expand Their Long Standing Relationship to Provide the Global Market with a Powerful, Turnkey Data Protection Solution

FRESNO, Calif., June 21, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Yosemite Technologies, a leading developer of multi-platform backup and recovery software solutions and Tandberg Data ASA, a leading global supplier and manufacturer of professional tape information storage solutions, today announced that the companies have expanded their relationship to provide an entry level data protection solution to channel partners and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) worldwide.

Under the agreement, Tandberg will bundle Yosemite's single server backup software, Yosemite TapeWare(r) XE with its high-performance tape drives. The agreement includes Tandberg's DLT VS and SDLT Tape Drives as well as the SLR range of products.

"Tandberg has a solid reputation as global provider of storage solutions. This expanded relationship complements Yosemite's global expansion initiatives and provides both companies with deeper market penetration," stated John Maxwell, vice president of worldwide marketing at Yosemite. "The relationship also provides our partners and their customers an out-of-the-box solution that is a great start to building a complete data protection solution."

"The companies have great synergy so it only makes sense to enhance that relationship and bring it to a global level," stated Frank Roszyk, General Manager Product Marketing at Tandberg Data. "Yosemite's backup software is the perfect supplement for our tape storage solutions, which tops our product portfolio in the lower level market for drives. It allows users to have an integrated, multi-OS solution that enables them to begin protecting their data immediately."

The Yosemite TapeWare(r) XE solution is the entry point into Yosemite's TapeWare family of backup and recovery software that provides heterogeneous support for Linux, Windows, NetWare and UNIX. TapeWare users have the benefit of a scalable, modular architecture so they can continue to expand their data protection capacity as their business grows. TapeWare offers complete, automated tape media management and an intuitive, wizard driven user interface which simplifies installation and use.

Tandberg offers the most comprehensive, reliable, scalable and easy-to-use range of information storage solutions that includes a wide range of high performance storage solutions including SLR, DLT LTO and SDLT technology.

The companies will jointly market the bundled solutions as well as the available upgrade opportunities. Upgrades and expansion options include online backup agents for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL Server, as well as the ability to protect additional network attached servers and PC desktops. Both companies offer exceptional channel support with marketing opportunities and training.
