LOS GATOS, Calif., June 22, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Semotus Solutions (AMEX:DLK), an innovative provider of real-time professional market data and intelligent wireless communications software, announced today it has entered into a strategic partnership with nextWLAN Corporation, makers of Internet Gatekeeper(tm) and Instant Hotspot(tm) WiFi Internet Access equipment and service bundles for consumers and small businesses, respectively, that will allow Semotus to resell both products.
Internet Gatekeeper and Instant Hotspot allow wireless Internet access to authorized users only, with no equipment setup or network administration required. Secure gateways prevent "drive-by" hackers from tapping into users' accounts. DSL, cable, satellite and broadband wireless providers are attracted to this offering for their own customers that want additional wireless Internet security, but wish to avoid extra configuration and complexity.
Semotus will market Internet Gatekeeper and Instant Hotspot to its existing carrier relationships including names like T-mobile and AT&T. Now carriers can enjoy the convenience of being able to buy enterprise, small business, and consumer wireless software and products from a vendor they have done business with for years, and trust as experts in the wireless arena.
"We are pleased to enter the exciting world of WiFi as a value-added reseller of nextWLAN's Internet Gatekeeper and Instant Hotspot wireless Internet routers and services," stated Pamela LaPine, Semotus Executive Vice-President. "We look forward to expanding the market for nextWLAN's product line by leveraging our carrier relationships."
"nextWLAN is thrilled that Semotus Solutions, a company well-known in the wireless and carrier industries, will be reselling our WiFi products," stated Carlos Rios, nextWLAN President. "We look forward to a very fruitful partnership between our two companies that will benefit customers looking for the most practical, true value-added WiFi offerings in a burgeoning market."
NextWLAN will be showcasing Internet Gatekeeper and Instant Hotspot at this week's anticipated SUPERCOMM show in Chicago. Broadband providers wishing to learn more about nextWLAN's WiFi plug-in solutions for their Internet Access offerings can visit the company's booth located in the Mobility Pavilion, booth #22629G.
