JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, June 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Impala Platinum Holdings Limited (Implats) and the National Union of Mineworkers confirm that they have reached agreement whereby the 1,700 rockdrill operators who have been engaged in unprotected industrial action at Impala Platinum Limited, will return to work by Tuesday 29 June 2004.
Agreement has been reached that management and the union will discuss the issues raised during this industrial action through the bargaining mechanisms in place at Impala and that the shifts lost will be made up. There has been no significant impact on production.
