DALLAS, July 8, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wall Street Futures, a leading news source for small-cap investors, continues to monitor home entertainment companies, and now has identified four "stocks to watch" in the space: Gold Entertainment Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets:GEGP); MDU Communications International, Inc. (OTCBB:MDTV); Adelphia Communications Corporation (Pink Sheets:ADELQ); and GWIN Inc. (OTCBB:GWNI).
MDU Communications is a provider of premium communication and information services, including digital satellite television and high-speed Internet, exclusively to the U.S. multi-dwelling unit marketplace, currently estimated at 26 million residences. When Wall Street Futures first identified the company on May 20, its shares were trading at $2.05; yesterday they closed at $2.39.
Wall Street Futures is also watching cable giant Adelphia, the fifth-largest cable television company in the country. Since Adelphia announced that it would explore a possible sale of the company in April, its share price has fallen by nearly 30 percent, closing at $0.52 yesterday, but at that price level, Wall Street Futures believes it will continue to attract the aggressive investor willing to hold.
GWIN is America's only publicly-traded sports handicapping company. It specializes in developing and marketing sports handicapping advice and information via television and the Internet. The company recently announced its expansion into television program development as well as a private investment by Lyle Berman, CEO of Lakes Entertainment, co-creator of the hit television series "The World Poker Tour". GWNI shares were up 16% yesterday to close at $0.21 on very good volume for the stock. Its 52-week high is $0.37.
Gold Entertainment recently unveiled a new, Internet-based DVD rental program through its wholly owned subsidiary, Quality of Life Marketing, Inc., a multi-level marketer of consumer DVD and video game products. Subscribers to the new service can watch as many DVDs as they choose for a fixed fee of $20 per month, with no late fees or scheduled due dates on rented movies. The program is available only to the company's distributor network, and should create significant interest in the stock when it is introduced to the general public in the near future.
Wall Street Futures continues to rate GEGP a "Strong Buy" in the home entertainment space, particularly at its current price level of $0.21.
