LAS VEGAS, Aug. 3, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The All Sports Television Network (ASTN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of OBN Holdings, Incorporated (OTCBB:OBNH), has signed an agreement with On Communications to broadcast international world championship, world cup and grand prix events conducted by international sports federations. "I believe that these international events serve as a great introduction of ASTN to the viewing public," stated Donald Wilson, acting General Manager of All Sports Television Network. "These events will clearly show the direction we plan to go in developing the network, and is just a small indication of things to come."
The initial events to be aired are the New York City Grand Prix of Fencing and World Championships of Women's Team Saber and Foil, the 32nd IAAF World Cross Country Championships, the International Canoe Federation World Cup and the Bearing Point Lucerne World Cup Rowing Event. The four events will air beginning in early August, and will serve as a precursor to the official launch, which commences in September. Future international events that ASTN plans to air include tennis, gymnastics, track and field, badminton, karate, rugby, table tennis, wrestling, volleyball, cycling, basketball and boxing.
Talks are also underway for licensing a series of sporting events currently being aired in Europe, and ASTN is in the process of developing two new television series. The network is planning to begin rolling out the new programming beginning in mid September.
