SAMPO PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 17 AUGUST 2004 at 2.00 p.m.
An Extraordinary General Meeting of Sampo Bank plc has elected Georg Schubiger and Tapani Koskinen as new members of the Board of Directors of Sampo Bank, effective from 25 August 2004.
Schubiger will continue to be responsible for Business Development in Sampo Bank. On 25 August 2004 he will also assume responsibility for Sampo's banking operations in the Baltic countries. Tapani Koskinen is responsible for Sampo Bank's Bank Product Processes.
Mika Ihamuotila (Chairman), Maarit Näkyvä (Vice Chairman), Ilkka Hallavo, Jarmo Lankinen, Patrick Lapveteläinen and Risto Tornivaara will continue to serve on Sampo Bank's Board of Directors.
