STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- An application has been made to the London Stock Exchange and the UK Listing Authority by Skandia Insurance Company Ltd. (publ) for the listing of 547,440 ordinary shares allotted pursuant to the exercise of warrants in connection with Skandia's stock option programme. The total number of issued Skandia shares is thereafter 1,024,172,460.
The stock option programme was decided upon at Skandia's annual general meeting in 2000. Detailed information of the programme can be found in Skandia's annual report for 2003. The listing of the new shares does not require any specific registration procedure at the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The information provided above is therefore only of a technical nature.
