Abucco Participates in Security Technology Trade Mission to China

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada, Aug. 31, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Stafford Energy, Inc., ("Stafford") (Pink Sheets:SFDE), is very pleased to announce that its subsidiary Abucco Technologies Inc. ("Abucco") was selected to participate in the Security Technology Trade Mission to China after a very stringent selection process.

The National Research Council of Canada - Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP), with the support of the National Research Council of Canada - Canadian Police Research Centre (NRC-CPRC), the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, and the Beijing Municipal Government, are jointly organizing a security technology mission to China for September 20 thru 30, 2004. The mission will include two of China's most important security markets: Beijing and Shanghai.

China's demand for security technology is dramatically increasing with the organizing of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. The objective of the mission is to garner information on China's demand for security technologies in general, specific information on security needs for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, and provide access to potential business partners and government officials for Canadian security technology firms interested in entering the Chinese market. The focus of the mission is to match Canadian security technology companies with qualified Chinese technology partners, agents, distributors, representatives, licensees, and clients in the security related sector.

Over the past few months, Abucco has identified several key commercial opportunities in China through potential distributors/dealers and has been actively pursuing these opportunities. Through this trade mission, Abucco, in addition to bringing product awareness to other key authorities, will meet with several of these potential distributors/dealers.

Rick Connors, President of Stafford commented: "The potential for doing business in China is massive and we are being proactive in this area as there has been an active interest on the part of several companies in China to carry our products. We are currently in discussions with one company for the supply of several thousand remote tracking systems for a specialty application on vehicles in both Beijing and Shanghai. These systems would provide event triggered in-vehicle camera surveillance in addition to other control solutions.

"During this trade mission, we will also be promoting a proprietary product POSID for utilization in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2010 Shanghai World Expo. This product features a patented smart card technology complete with reader/writer, capable of storing all relevant personal data including an encrypted picture (500 bytes) for positive identification of individuals (event and venue access control)."

Abucco, a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Stafford is in the business of high technology security, access and telemetry monitoring and control over the Internet and wireless networks. For more information about Abucco, please see Abucco's website at www.abucco.com.

Stafford intends to continue to update its shareholders and the marketplace as newsworthy events occur.
