K-supermarket chain reduces prices of 500 products

Nearly 400 of the price-reduced products are food items, such as bread, milk products, cheeses, frozen foods, grain products, brewery products, juices and ready-to-eat foods. In addition, the prices of over one hundred non-food items are lowered in the categories of tissues, washing agents and detergents.

Most of the price-reduced products represent well-known brands, but they also include Pirkka and Euro Shopper products, which are private labels of Kesko Food and K-food stores. The price-reduced products are identified with shelf labels in the K-supermarkets.

Depending on the store, a K-supermarket product selection consists an average of about 9,000 items of both industry brands and the K-Alliance's own brands. For example, the Pirkka range offers over 1,300 products and the Euro Shopper range nearly 300 very low-priced alternatives.

This is the second large-scale price reduction implemented in the K-Alliance's food store chains this year, because the K-citymarket chain also reduced the prices of 500 products in the spring. Last year, the retail prices of all Pirkka products were permanently lowered in all K-food stores.

The K-supermarket chain, which celebrates its 10 years of operation this year, is the biggest food retail chain in the K-Alliance with its more than 150 stores, and the network continues to expand. Last year, the chain's sales totalled nearly 1.4 billion euros.
