STOCK COMMENTARY:

Equities ended to close the week essentially unchanged. Though, technology stocks enjoyed a lift skyward to finish last Friday's trading session, mainly tepid performance could be seen in the most widely-held stocks.

Good economic numbers fueled discussion for the week ahead, along with world economic concerns. The next five days begin clouded with a set of new worries. The war in Iraq, US Airway's bankruptcy filings, and the move higher in Asian stock markets over the weekend, all offer investors plenty to mull over.

Market technicians see stocks as being too risky short-term. So, equities might be, mostly, treading water in the new week. While that may be true, our analysts view most any near-term softness as a simply an expected market correction. Good financial numbers last week point to broad gains for US equities in the medium-term.
