CERRITOS, Calif., Sept. 14, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mass Connections(tm), the nation's industry leader in retail marketing services and consumer-related promotions, recently announced the results of their year-long study into the effectiveness of in-store promotions. The survey continues to reflect Mass Connections' solid commitment to engage the industry in an increased understanding of how the retail industry can increase sales and improve its processes, as well as how Mass Connections can aid in that endeavor.
The study, conducted by the polling company(tm), an independent research and polling firm located in Washington, D.C., analyzed a vast amount of data, interviews with related industry personnel, and consumer surveys in order to complete the research. With growth of over 14% from 2002 to 2003 in the in-store promotional industry, the results of the study display the positive benefits of in-store promotional campaigns, both for their connection to the consumer and the immediate exposure the product receives in the marketplace. Some of the conclusions of the analysis include:
- Promotions create excitement in the retail store, enhancing the shopping experience for consumers.
- Promotional events also increased a consumer's time in a store, thus potentially increasing overall sales for the store.
- Consumers are extremely enthusiastic about store sampling, and many respondents stated they were more likely to purchase new items displayed at an in-store event.
- Shoppers stated that they would rather shop in a retail store that has samples as opposed to a store that does not.
Caroline Nakken, President and CEO of Mass Connections, commented on the importance of the project by stating, "I thought this study was important in confirming how Mass Connections provides benefits to CPG and retail partners, while continuing to improve our presence in the industry. In the end, all parties win."
Mass Connections commitment to improving the retail industry includes further studies regarding CPG Companies, in-store consumer surveys, and possibly web surveys of CPG Company personnel. Mass Connections' track record of success over the last year has produced the "Join the Fight" initiative to combat childhood obesity, the "Connecting With Our Soldiers" campaign that allows consumers to write to soldiers in harm's way, as well as their many in-store promotions that continue to be a beacon in the highly competitive retail industry.
