LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Veteran actor Pip Mushin has had memorable roles in "Strictly Ballroom" and "Fat Pizza" and will be appearing prominently in Peter Jackson's latest film "King Kong" currently filming in New Zealand.
Pip's first film as director, "Josh Jarman," is enjoying great success in Australia since appearing in competition at the Melbourne International Film Festival.
Now in competition in the Hollywood Film Festival, the film is receiving very positive international attention. Variety acclaims: "`Josh Jarman' emerges as a fitfully funny farce. A tale of a serious playwright tempted by sex and fame."
This clever comedy combines sex, romance, slapstick and musical theatre with a result that defies independent film constraints. There is a Broadway-style musical scene that far surpasses expectations.
