(OTCBB:COBN) today announced that it has engaged Dr. Leonard Makowka to become a member of its Board of Advisors. Dr. Makowka is a world leading authority in hepatic science (study relating to the liver) who trained under Dr. Thomas Starzl, the pioneer of liver transplantation. Dr. Makowka became the Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Director of Transplantation Services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, and the Founder/Executive Director of the Comprehensive Liver Disease/Treatment Center at St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Makowka has been published over 400 times about both clinical and basic scientific research, has lectured worldwide as one of the world's leading authorities in his field, and has performed hundreds of hepatobiliary and liver transplant procedures. He has since retired from the active practice of medicine to pursue investment strategies and business development, as well as lending his expertise in an advisory capacity in healthcare, life sciences, and other industry sectors related to quality of life issues, including such companies as Hollis Eden Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq:HEPH), Kinemed, Inc., Desert Health Products, Inc.
