New automotive communications solution from Nokia and Nissan

Düsseldorf/Helsinki  -  Nokia and Nissan have jointly developed an integrated vehicle communications solution for the new Nissan Primera. Integrated into the central console, the new system offers comfortable handsfree operation using the vehicle's own N-FORM control system with its large colour display. It also features a baseplate onto which various mobile holders can be mounted. This makes it compatible with a wide range of mobile phones from different manufacturers*. The innovative handsfree system is now available in the new Nissan Primera.

Users can operate the phone comfortably using the controls and 7-inch colour display of the vehicle's N-FORM operating system.** In addition to viewing the phonebook downloaded from the mobile phone on the colour display, the user can scroll through the numbers either alphabetically or by speed dial number, initiate and take calls, as well as put a call on hold in order to answer a second call.

"We are pleased that our co-operation with Nissan has brought such successful results. Together, we have found a perfect solution to completely satisfy even the more demanding users of automotive communications systems", says Marcus Stahl, General Manager Automotive Accounts, Nokia Automotive.

The integrated communication system is already available in Europe.
