The National Notary Association and US Biometrics Announce Technology Sharing Agreement

Alliance to Merge Latest in Fingerprint Technology and Electronic Notarization

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Nov. 3, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Recognizing the role that fingerprint technology can play in further enhancing the in-person identification process, National Notary Association (NNA), the nation's leading professional organization dedicated to the promotion and support of Notaries, and US Biometrics, a leading player in the biometrics industry, announce a joint technology agreement to merge the latest in fingerprint technology into the NNA's premiere electronic notarization tool, Enjoa(r).

This agreement will allow NNA to leverage its experience, knowledge and current technology in identity protection, while securing US Biometric's fingerprint technology as a tool to enhance identification management for the notarization industry and government partners. With this agreement, the newly-released version of the Enjoa(r) software product will support biometric authentication and scripting technology licensed from US Biometrics. "This is a great partnership in that we are leveraging the strengths of both organizations to come to market with a unique product," said David Delgrosso, President of US Biometrics.

Enjoa(r) allows for the electronic transmission of notarizations. According to Richard Hansberger, Director of eNotarization at the NNA, "Adding US Biometrics's biometric technology to Enjoa(r) will add another layer of defense for consumers and business against the growing threat of identity crimes. Given the increased problem of identity theft and the amplified national security need for secure signature transfer technology, this enhanced Enjoa(r) should be a welcome tool for business, government and consumers."
