 StockPickReport Commentary
 MUTUAL FUND SCANDALS CONTINUE

The SEC will start an "Informal Inquiry" into "Broker Gifts" to Mutual Fund Executives. The reason? Well, looks like brokerage firms were "wining and dining" (literally) mutual fund executives to woo business.

Really? No. Come on. You can't be serious.

Well, okay, yeah we can. So, what is the impact of this? Good question.

Brokerages want products to sell you. They need access to as many "mutual funds" as possible. There is a great demand for new investment vehicles to shove at you: The more products a broker can sell, the more chances they have to make a commission from you. The more commissions they make, the more money that goes into their account.

Simple math.

But, the loser is YOU, the investor. Instead of focusing on quality products, brokers focus on quantity of products. And, that ain't good for you. Remember our conversation with the Edward Jones broker who didn't know anything about trading options?

That same broker filled an entire hour showing me every possible "mutual fund" "opportunity" available. Wonder why this stuff happens? It happens because MAINSTREAM WALLSTREET MAKES MONEY WHEN TRADERS ARE IGNORANT AND HOOKED UP TO HIGH-COMMISSION "PRODUCTS" AND SERVICES LIKE "MUTUAL FUNDS".
