Homeland Integrated Security Systems Announces that the Merger of Nextel and Sprint Will Open Doors as Well as Launch a New Level of Service to Our Homeland and Our Nation's Ports

ASHEVILLE, N.C., Dec. 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Officials at Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets:HISC) reported today that Nextel Communications Inc., the supplier of their data pipeline, and Sprint Corp. has reached a tentative agreement to merge. According to industry analysts, this will create the third largest cellular communications company in the nation. When asked how the potential merger might affect Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc. and its port related business, Frank Moody, CEO, replied by saying that the combined companies will most likely benefit from economies of scale in purchasing. In addition, Moody feels that Nextel-Sprint will complement each other's strengths and weaknesses, and the joining of forces will make the new company that much stronger. As far as Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc. is concerned, Moody says, "(they) are looking forward to being able to take advantage of the potential that the possible merger will offer."

Sprint is poised to invest 2 to 3 billion dollars to build a high-speed wireless network that will enhance many of the products and services that Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc. offers to the Homeland Security arena. Moody believes that the new company will allow Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc. to increase its products as well as enhance its current offerings to the ports.

Ian Riley, Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc.'s CTO, reports, "Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc. will be able to provide better and more advanced solutions to Homeland Security, including stronger coverage and faster and more redundant wireless data transmission." Riley believes that the core of Nextel will remain the same, utilizing the packet data network and its 128 bit encryption key. Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc. will continue to use this for its GPS solutions and wireless networking and transmission at our nation's ports.

According to Jim Bullock, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc., "The merger of these giants opens the door for Homeland Integrated Security Systems, Inc. to launch a new level of service to Homeland Security and our Nations ports. We are very enthused about all the possibilities this may bring."
