LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Yap International, Inc. (Pink Sheets:YPIL) today announced the signing of an exclusive contract with Representaciones Gorbea, S.A. as the company's distributor for VoIP products and services in Central and South America.
Representaciones Gorbea, S.A. (RGSA) has a major presence in the region. RGSA has entered into an exclusive contractual agreement with the second largest carrier in the region for 200,000 VoIP units to be deployed throughout Guatemala in 2005. The contract represents in excess of $52,000,000 USD and Yap International expects that its products will comprise the largest share of the order. RGSA is also the exclusive representative for Level 3 (Nasdaq:LVLT) in Central America.

Upon the successful completion of this Guatemalan trial, El Salvador, Bolivia, Paraguay will be added in Central and South America. On the African continent VoIP services will be deployed in Ghana, Mauritius, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Tanzania, representing a population in excess of 73.9 million.
