Sciax Reports Mining Sale to Potash Corp

BAY CITY, Mich. and TORONTO, Feb. 2, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sciax Corp. (Pink Sheets:SCXC) reported today the completion of an order to Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PCS Inc.) (TSX:POT) (NYSE:POT), the largest producer of potash in the world.

PCS Inc. needed to upgrade their optical drift inspection equipment. This equipment is used to evaluate whether any slippage has occurred in a seam that may pose a danger to mine employees. After evaluating several vendors they selected an extendible borescope plus various components from Sciax's partner, Richard Wolf GmbH.

"The superior optics, quality and durability of the Wolf products were what set us apart from our competition," stated Ralph Manore, Vice President of Operations for Sciax. "This mining order represents another market for the Richard Wolf industrial products that Sciax has been pursuing."

As mentioned in an earlier press release, Endoscopes, also called borescopes, fiberscopes or videoprobes, are used in remote visual inspection applications by a variety of security and industrial users. These scopes enable users to visually inspect hidden or inaccessible areas in circumstances where viewing with the unaided eye would be difficult or impossible. The opto-electronic technology used in industrial endoscopes is very similar to that of medical instruments which are increasingly employed in diagnostic procedures and minimally invasive surgery.

It is worthwhile to note that Endoscopes have several security applications where they are useful in conducting contraband searches, covert surveillance, and physical security operations. The company's Wolf Pack(tm) used in security applications can be fitted with a special Sciax produced Endoscope Camera that extends the Wolf Packs visual data gathering capabilities using endoscopes to 'hidden and inaccessible areas' as noted above.
