CANNES, France, and SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 16, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hall 2, Stand D48 -- Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:PWAV), a leading supplier of end-to-end wireless infrastructure solutions, will display its Clean Site(TM) antenna systems today at 3GSM World Congress, the mobile industry's premier event, taking place in Cannes, France Feb. 14-17.
Maximizing the use of tower space by integrating a full-range of broad- and multiband antennas with high-performance TMAs, diplexers and triplexers under a single radome, Powerwave's Clean Site antennas meet the design and installation specifications for co-siting of networks and systems, while effectively dealing with zoning ordinances that limit the appearance and location of new installations. Clean Site antennas also lower total costs of ownership; lessen the visual impact; shorten time-to-market; and improve network performance by reducing the required number of feeders, antennas, and base station equipment components when compared to traditional antenna systems.
The Powerwave Clean Site antenna system is very versatile; customers can freely combine large numbers of components to yield up to 16,000 different configurations to meet the requirements of a wide variety of both single- and multi-sector environments.
``Powerwave antennas have a proven track record of performing at the highest standards, even in the most demanding environments," said Ronald J. Buschur, President and Chief Executive Officer, Powerwave Technologies. ``Our commitment to excellence in research, manufacturing and quality testing enables us to meet the emerging requirements of network operators, minimizing the visual impact of the complete antenna systems and significantly reducing operational costs through our advanced single, dual and triple band Clean Site antenna solutions."
Clean Site Single-Band Antenna
The foundation for the Powerwave Clean Site single band antenna solution is the single band broadband antenna portfolio with cross-polar diversity that reduces the total number of antennas required. Available in either low band coverage in the 806 to 960 megahertz (MHz) range, or high band coverage in the 1710 to 2170MHz range, Clean Site single band antennas can be customized by combining a low band antenna with a remote electrical tilt (RET) unit, or a high band antenna with a TMA at the 1800, 1900 or 2100MHz frequency band in addition to an RET unit.
Clean Site Dual Band Antenna
The basic configuration of the Clean Site dual band antenna is characterized by the presence of either a low band and high band antenna, or two high band antennas. To meet the requirements of the network operator, the dual band antenna can be combined with RET units; TMAs with either 12 decibel (dB) fixed gain, or variable between 23 and 32dB; and diplex filters for feeder reduction.
Clean Site Triple Band Antenna
The Powerwave triple band antenna solution is the most advanced antenna system within the Clean Site program. Based on a high-performance triple band antenna platform, the Clean Site triple band solution is ideal for co-siting. In addition, the Clean Site triple band solution with RET control and two dual TMAs can replace older installed passive antennas without changing the visual impact of the system.
