RESTON, Va., Feb. 16, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) today announced the appointment of Lon Levin to the newly created position of Vice President, Corporate and International Planning. Mr. Levin will assume planning responsibility for MSV's new domestic and international initiatives for its hybrid mobile satellite/terrestrial ancillary terrestrial component (ATC) service.

Mr. Levin, a seasoned satellite industry veteran, was instrumental in the early stage development of American Mobile Satellite Corporation, Mobile Satellite Ventures and XM Satellite Radio, where he served as XM's President until 1998. Mr. Levin has served as Co-Chairman of the Satellite Industry Association (SIA), and is now on the Board of Directors of SIA, the Satellite Broadcast and Communications Association, the Space Foundation, and is on the Board of Governors of the National Space Society. Mr. Levin has been a U.S. delegate to many International Telecommunication Union conferences, including WARC-92 and WRC-95. Before joining MSV, he was a partner in the telecommunications law firm of Gurman, Kurtis, Blask and Freedman. Before that he was an attorney at the Federal Communications Commission, focusing on satellite, international, and media matters.
