Kemira Oyj has sold its shares in A. Jalander Oy (16 per cent) to A. Jalander Oy. The transaction will have no significant effect on Kemira Oyj's financial result.
Kemira Group sold the business of A. Jalander Oy to a new company in the year 2001, whereby the company's management became majority owners in the new company, with Kemira Oyj remaining as a stakeholder through an equity loan and a minority holding of 16 per cent. A. Jalander Oy has paid back the equity loan to Kemira Oyj in connection with the sale of shares.
A. Jalander Oy holds a leading position in pallet production and marketing in Finland, with facilities in Muurla and Oulu. The company also engages in ship broker services in Kokkola.
A. Jalander had net sales of approx. EUR 11 million in the year 2004. The number of personnel totals 50 persons.
Heikki Lehtimäki, managing director of A. Jalander Oy, says Kemira Oyj's role has been of great importance for A. Jalander Oy at the early stages of the company, both through Kemira's holding in the company and through the equity loan. The current development is in line with both companies' strategy.
