New President in Prosafe Offshore


Robin Laird has been employed as Vice President Finance in Prosafe Offshore since 1995, and brings considerable knowledge and experience to this position. He is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate of Edinburgh University in 1985, and was in 1988 admitted as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Prior to joining Prosafe, Robin Laird was employed by Ben Line Group in Edinburgh as Group Financial Controller.
 
Prosafe Offshore is the world's leading owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation and service rigs and has its headquarters in Aberdeen. The company's rigs are primarily used for accommodation purposes in connection with installation, modification and maintenance of offshore installations, and for subsea construction and well intervention. Prosafe Offshore had operating revenues of USD 168.8 million and operating profits of USD 56.5 million in 2004, and achieved a 87% fleet utilisation ratio. Currently their fleet of eight rigs are working for Bechtel/British Gas on the Miskar project in Tunisia, Shell Nigeria on the Bonga FPSO in Nigeria, Statoil on the Visund project in Norway, whilst the remaining five rigs continue on long-term contracts in the Gulf of Mexico for Pemex.
