NEW YORK, March 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq:JBLU) announced that it has received the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) prestigious Diamond Certificate of Excellence Award for the airline's maintenance technician training program.

The Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Awards program is designed to encourage aviation maintenance technicians to take advantage of initial and recurrent training. The stringent requirements of this award, the highest of 5 levels of achievement, have been surpassed by 149 JetBlue Crewmembers who will receive the "Diamond" recognition.
The Certificate of Excellence was presented by Mel Freedman, Manager of FAA Flight Standards and Tom Mineo, FAA Supervisor District Office 15 on Friday, March 4 to Tom Anderson, JetBlue's Senior Vice President of Technical Operations and Aircraft Programs during a special ceremony at the company's Crewmember Support Center in Forest Hills, New York.
