LOS ANGELES, March 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The International Right of Way Association (IRWA) Los Angeles Chapter 1 has named Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) as the recipient of its Employer of the Year in the category of large employers in the public and private sector.
IRWA made the annual award based on LAWA's commitment to the continued education and professional development of its employees. Vivian Howell, a property manager and co-chair of Chapter 1's professional development committee, said, "The diamond crystal award acknowledges that LAWA provides the support, encouragement and atmosphere for its IRWA member and non-member employees to pursue professional development and continuing education through the IRWA."
The IRWA is the pre-eminent source of right-of-way education and professional services worldwide. Its members are in the fields of law, public service administration, appraisal, engineering, negotiation, relocation, property management and public relations. These individuals engage in the acquisition, management and disposition of real property or property interests in public, quasi-public or private activities.
LAWA owns and operates four airports - Los Angeles International, Ontario International, Palmdale Regional and Van Nuys - for the City of Los Angeles.
