Multimedia messaging service will be the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia
Nokia has signed an agreement with ALJAWAL (GSM operator of Saudi Telecom Company) for the supply of the Nokia Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) solution. Deliveries have already begun and the service is expected to be launched nationwide during first half 2005 - making it the first MMS service in Saudi Arabia.
With the launch of the commercial MMS service, ALJAWAL will be able to offer its' 9.6 million mobile subscribers services such as person-to-person MMS, which is a greatly enriched version of SMS with the capability of sending video clips, pictures and voice or sounds combined with text messages.

In addition to the complete Nokia MMS solution, Nokia will provide care services for deployment, including emergency support, help desk, software maintenance, and training, as well as system integration services.
