Swedish Armed Forces Decide to Award Saab Contract to Operate Reserve Materiel Warehouses

LINKOPING, Sweden, March 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Swedish Armed Forces have carried out a competitive procurement process with regard to operation of reserve materiel warehouses. According to this decision, the Swedish Armed Forces intend to place the order with AerotechTelub, provided that no one requests an appeal against the decision.

The order is an outsourcing solution which means that around 50 people who work in the operation at Arboga, Sweden, will be offered employment at AerotechTelub. The operational transition in Arboga is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2005. In the longer term, operation of the other reserve materiel warehouses in Sweden will also be included in the order.

"AerotechTelub's strategy includes growing on the Swedish defense market with bigger projects in the fields of logistics and technical services. We are very pleased and proud to have taken further strides in this direction with this latest contract," says Lars-Erik Wige, President of AerotechTelub.

The outsourcing contract encompasses operation of the central warehouse in Arboga and the Garrison warehouses, as well as certain fuel sourcing functions within Armed Forces operations. The Swedish Armed Forces will continue to own and procure all reserve materiel.

The initial stage affects some 50 personnel at the central warehouse in Arboga. The second stage of the contract will encompass further development of the Garrison warehouses as part of a logistical concept for supplying Swedish Armed Forces workshops and units, for instance. This second stage will affect at least as many personnel at over 10 of the Armed Forces' operating locations.
