TORONO, April 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Produce Safety and Security International Inc., the `Company,' or (PinkSheets:PDSS) is pleased to announce an exclusive distribution agreement with Food Safety - BG Ltd located in Sofia, Bulgaria. The agreement grants rights for exclusive distribution of PDSS Ozone and Spherequat products along with PDSS consulting services to Food Safety - BG Ltd throughout the Republic of Bulgaria. PDSS and Food Safety - BG Ltd also agreed on the promotion and advertising of the Ozone and Spherequat products and to cooperate in trade mark registration, licenses and other registrations.
Food Safety - BG Ltd has been registered to work on all aspects of Bulgaria's food safety issues in order to assist the Bulgarian food and produce industries with their forthcoming accession to the European Union in 2007. Food Safety - BG Ltd will also be focusing on functional and fortified foods for specific needs within Bulgaria's general population.
C. `Bill' Karney, President & CEO of PDSS stated, "In the first year this contract should generate $200,000 to $350,000. The Bulgarian program will start off slow since much of the first year will involve educating the government in food safety operations and working with the private industries in food processing and hotels. I expect the second year to increase as we branch out into the medical field since two members of Food Safety - BG Ltd's management are in a medical research program that may attribute an increase of 15% in growth for year 2. The third year should show steady growth to 30%. The slow growth pattern is attributed to the current use of many different types of products that don't have the safety protection that PDSS's process provides. PDSS's first year will be very involved in educating, re-educating and working with Bulgarian food safety research programs."
