COSTA MESA, Calif., June 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The CDMA Development Group (CDG) (www.cdg.org) announced today the appointment of Ricardo Sarti as regional director of roaming for Latin America. In this position, Sarti will be responsible for working with CDMA operators in Latin America to accelerate international CDMA roaming including CDMA2000 3G data roaming.
"Ricardo's appointment demonstrates the CDG's dedication to accelerating the widespread availability of 3G wireless services throughout Latin America and across the globe," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG. "Ricardo's extensive industry track record and carrier relationships will augment the CDG's initiatives in further expanding international roaming capabilities. We welcome Ricardo to the CDG."
Sarti will collaborate with Celedonio von Wuthenau, CDG's regional director for Latin America and will be a key contributor to the CDG Roaming Project.
Sarti has more than 21 years of professional telecom experience, including extensive work on international voice, data and roaming services. Prior to joining the CDG, Sarti held various positions with CRM S.A. (Movicom BellSouth), including product manager for Roaming Long Distance, broadband and public telephone and Sales Manager for international services. Sarti also worked as General Manager for Global One Communications S.A in Argentina, Managing Director at AT&T Communication Service Group and Schlumberger.
Sarti earned an MBA in marketing management from the Universidad del Salvador and an engineering degree in electronics from the Instituto Tecnologico de Buenos Aires (ITBA).
