NEW YORK, Sept. 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- British Airways announced today the launch of a 'world offers' airfare and hotel sale, presenting travellers the opportunity to journey and stay around the world at affordable prices, with over 100 worldwide destinations on sale.
Airfares begin at $278 roundtrip between New York (JFK or Newark) and London, with excellent rates available to other cities including Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Athens, Venice, Rome, Prague, Bombay, Dubai, Hong Kong, Cape Town, and Cairo. Hotels in central London begin at $39 per night and five-star luxury resorts in India available at $71 per night.
Sale prices are available from Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, through Thursday midnight (EDT), Sept. 22. Travel is valid from Oct. 27, 2005 through Dec. 15, 2005, and Dec. 24 through April 3, 2006.

Comparable airfares are available from 19 British Airways' USA cities to destinations around the world. Sample roundtrip fares include Boston/Rome for $423, Los Angeles/Madrid beginning at $512, New York/Hong Kong starting at $972 and Chicago/Cape Town starting at $1,220. Travellers also have the option to upgrade to World Traveller Plus, the airline's economy plus cabin for an additional fee.
Other participating U.S. gateways include, Boston, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Denver, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Detroit, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Fares are subject to government approval and do not include government fees and taxes ranging from approximately $104 for World Traveller to approximately $149 for World Traveller Plus and a $2.50 September 11 Security Fee. A $30 weekend travel surcharge (Thu.-Sun.) applies each direction.
Fares are applicable to new bookings made from September 13-22, 2005. Refunds from previously purchased higher fare types not permitted. A seven-day advance purchase is required for World Traveller; 42-day advance purchase required for World Traveller Plus. Other significant restrictions may apply.
Hotel Promotional Details
Hotel offers are open to US residents paying in U.S. dollars and are valid for new bookings only made Sept. 13-22, 2005, for travel no earlier than Sept. 17, 2005 and no later than March 31, 2006, depending on hotel selected. The hotels included must be booked in conjunction with round-trip transatlantic British Airways flights, purchased September 13-22, 2005 for travel September 17, 2005 - March 31, 2006. Rates may be higher for other room types and travel periods outside of the above.
