ATLANTA, Sept. 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- LXE Inc., a leading developer of rugged mobile computing solutions, announces that Avery Dennison, a global leader in pressure-sensitive labeling materials, office products and retail tag, ticketing and branding systems, has become a Certified LXE RFID Technology Partner. Avery Dennison becomes the first technology provider to be certified as part of LXE's recently announced RFID certification program.
Certified LXE RFID Technology Partners provide RFID products that compliment the RX1 rugged forklift-mounted RFID reader. To become certified, technology partners must demonstrate complimentary value and rigorously test their products to ensure compatibility with the RX1 system.
Specific Avery Dennison products that have been tested as part of the certification process include the Metal Track tag, a passive 915 MHz RFID tag that can be applied to metal and liquid container surfaces. Metal Track tags have been tested extensively for several months in field pilots with the RX1 providing superior location identification on metal storage racks. The Metal Track tag is just one of a full line of high-performance RFID tags that Avery Dennison employs in supply chain and unit level tagging applications throughout the Department of Defense, Retail, Industrial & Automotive, Apparel & Footwear industries.
"LXE's RX1 is truly a ground-breaking product," says Joseph Miglionico, RFID program manager for Avery Dennison. "After our initial review of the LXE forklift mounted solution, the applicability of the system was immediately obvious. We decided to become a Certified LXE RFID Technology Partner."
