PhotoCure ASA announces today that Metvix is approved in Brazil for the treatment of actinic keratosis (pre-cancerous skin lesions) and basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer).
Galderma Brazil, a subsidiary of PhotoCure's global licensing partner Galderma S.A., expects to launch Metvix and Aktilite in the third quarter of 2006. The launch of Metvix will provide an additional opportunity to help physicians to treat and educate patients about skin care. This is especially true in a market where female patients are particularly concerned about their skin condition.
