JetBlue Applies for New York-Cancun, Mexico Service

NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- JetBlue Airways Corp. (Nasdaq:JBLU), New York's hometown airline, today announced it has filed an application with the Department of Transportation (DOT) to offer daily non-stop service between New York and Cancun, Mexico. The low-fare airline currently serves 30 cities in the United States, including Puerto Rico, as well as two international destinations to Santiago, Dominican Republic and Nassau, The Bahamas.

"On behalf of our 9,000 crewmembers, 'JetBlue desea brindarle a los New Yorkers un nuevo servicio comodo y economico a Cancun,'" said JetBlue CEO David Neeleman. ("JetBlue wants to bring New Yorkers new, comfortable and low-fare service to Cancun.")

"Cancun is one of the world's most beautiful cities, and with daily, non-stop JetBlue service, more people will experience the wonders of this ancient city," Neeleman said.

JetBlue plans to operate the service with Airbus A320 equipment, offering customers the most live in-flight entertainment options of any airline. If awarded the route by the Department of Transportation, and subject to approval by the Mexican government, JetBlue plans to begin its new service between New York and Cancun by Dec. 17, or within 90 days of receiving the authorization to operate the route.
