Photo Release -- Northrop Grumman Appoints Linda A. Mills Vice President, Operations and Processes


MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Linda A. Mills vice president of operations and processes, for the company's Information Technology (IT) sector, effective Oct. 1. Mills will report to James O'Neill, president of Northrop Grumman IT.

In this newly created role, Mills will manage business operations and day-to-day business processes. She will also oversee the IT sector's infrastructure and further improve the process framework.

"Linda is a recognized business process expert who has helped position Northrop Grumman as an industry leader in numerous market segments," said O'Neill. "We look forward to her involvement and leadership in many of the IT sector initiatives, with the goal of improving our cross-functional business operational efficiency."

Mills joins the IT sector from her most recent position as vice president, mission assurance/Six Sigma for Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector. Building on her broad program management experience, she led the strategy and implementation for sector-wide initiatives including mission assurance and Six Sigma aimed at increasing customer satisfaction through streamlined operations, improved decision making through the use of metrics, and continued mission success for delivered customer systems. Mills' expertise contributed significantly to the corporation earning more Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model(r) Level 5 Integration maturity ratings than any other defense or commercial company to-date.

In her earlier roles at the Mission Systems sector, she worked in a variety of business operations and program management positions, including vice president of Mission Systems' internal information infrastructure organization, vice president for the corporate Global Year 2000 program and director of the U. S. Treasury Communications System program.

Mills earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Santa Clara and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Illinois.
