NEW YORK, Oct. 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq:JBLU), New York's hometown airline, today announced a major expansion of service from its home base at New York's JFK International Airport, including up to 10 new daily flights between New York and Boston; three new daily flights to Austin, Texas; four new daily flights to Richmond, Va.; and increased frequencies to Buffalo, N.Y. and Burlington, Vt.

A photo accompanying this release is available at: http://www.primezone.com/newsroom/prs/?pkgid=1975

The new nonstop service will be flown with EMBRAER 190 100-seat aircraft, and will be the first JetBlue flights to offer more than 100 channels of XM Satellite Radio(b). When combined with the airline's current offering of 36 channels of DIRECTV(r) programming, JetBlue will offer the most live entertainment options of any airline.

The low-fare airline today also announced a major expansion of service from Boston with new daily service to Austin, Texas; Nassau, The Bahamas; New York (JFK); Richmond, Va.; and West Palm Beach, Fla., plus new connecting opportunities to 27 JetBlue cities, including 15 cities previously unserved from Boston. The airline will triple the number of destinations out of Boston by April 6, 2006.

"New Yorkers have demanded JetBlue's low-fare, nonstop service to the business and cultural centers in Austin, Boston and Richmond for some time now," said JetBlue's CEO David Neeleman. "Today, as we officially welcome our first EMBRAER 190 aircraft, we are in a position to bring low-fare, high-quality service to these cities, as well as more nonstop service to Buffalo and Burlington. With the delivery of one new E190 every 20 days, plus 16 new A320 aircraft in 2006, and adding seven more gates at New York's JFK, JetBlue will have the potential to offer up to 200 daily flights, also increasing the number of connection opportunities between JetBlue and the 80-plus international carriers that serve the world's number 1 international gateway airport."

"For years now, JetBlue has helped bring reliable and affordable air service to all of New York and now New York will be the first to reap the benefits of this significant expansion," said U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer. "These jets will open up new destinations around the country for New Yorkers and help drive airfares down. New Yorkers have taken advantage of JetBlue's service in record numbers and I know these new planes will be a huge boost for JetBlue, JFK and Buffalo. With new, expanded JetBlue service to Boston, Buffalo, Richmond and Austin, air travel will be much more affordable and, as we have seen time and again, low fares will translate into economic growth."

Up to 10 New Flights Between New York -- Boston

JetBlue will offer an introductory sale fare between New York-JFK and Boston of $25(a) each way. This sale fare must be purchased by October 20, 2005, for travel between November 8 and December 14, 2005. Blackout dates from November 22-28 will apply. The carrier's regular fares will range from $40(a) to $120(a) each way.

"Since JetBlue launched their successful Boston service in January 2004, Bostonians have enjoyed their low fares and award winning customer service," said Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. "I congratulate JetBlue and I look forward to watching JetBlue grow further still at Logan."
