FLSmidth wins orders in South Africa and Kuwait

FLSmidth commissioned the existing production line at the Simuma plant in 1983 which has been in trouble-free operation for the last 22 years.

FLSmidth India will supply the equipment for the new 1,500 tpd clinker line which includes proprietary designs utilising FLSmidth's latest technologies, especially for low emissions which are a critical element of the project considering its location near an urban area. The plant is expected to be commissioned in August 2007.

Meanwhile FFE Minerals India - as reported in the media - has received an order worth USD 25m (more than DKK 155m) for a 350,000 tonne coal anode producing facility for aluminium manufacture in Kuwait.

The order, which is expected to become effective in mid November once FFE Minerals India receives the bank guarantees and the first instalment, was announced at a press conference last week by the customer, Petroleum Coke Industries Company (PCIC) of Kuwait. FLSmidth's normal procedure of announcing major contracts is to issue a Stock Exchange announcement on receiving bank guarantees and prepayment.

The orders will contribute positively to FLSmidth's earnings until the plants are commissioned in 2007.
